Renewable Energy

The Polish State Secretary, Mieczyslaw Kasprzak manufacturers, investors, planners and users meet Poland on the RENEXPO late July announced changes in the support system for renewable energy: expected 2013 should enter into force a feed-in tariff system for electricity from renewable energy sources and replace the existing quota system. Also, the access to the electricity grid should be facilitated for small installations. These conditions will inspire the Polish market and a dynamic development. Poland has a large potential for the use of renewable energies. Since the early of 1990s, especially the Polish Baltic Sea coast is an interesting location for wind turbines, many international companies use. There are currently about 600 wind turbines with a total capacity of some 2,000 megawatts installed in Poland.

According to Government plans, performance may exceed 6,000 megawatts by the year 2020. But also in the inland, there are productive sites. Also to deals in Poland with the subject Offshore wind energy: up to the year 2020 wind farms could be installed on the Polish Baltic Sea with a capacity of about 500 megawatts. In addition to the wind energy the biggest importance of biomass in Poland: around 16 million hectares of the capitals are used for agriculture and provide resources to energy recovery. The number of agricultural biogas plants is still very low. However the 2010 already passed to the bio gas development programme 2010-2020 “to install, 2,500 in number at least an agricultural biogas plant per municipality up to 2020.

Therefore, the Polish bio gas market increasingly to foreign companies is interesting. Several international companies planning or currently building in Poland biogas plants in the megawatt range. The generation of solar power should soon be worth with the new EEG. The EEG compensation rates Bill provides about 27 cents per kilowatt hour for electricity from smaller photovoltaic plants. Poland in Europe is already being used in the use of solar thermal systems a leading position behind Germany, Austria, Italy, Spain and France to. According to the Institute for renewable energy (EC BREC IEO) were installed in the year 2011 almost a million square meters of solar panels to generate heat. Also heat pumps are now growing popular. 2011 the Polish heat pump Association PORT PC has established itself, in which since the largest European heat pump manufacturers with their Polish subsidiary companies are organized. One of its goals is it, detailed knowledge on planning, design and installation of energy-saving technology in the installation specialists to pass, where still considerable need for information. RENEXPO international trade fair serves Poland as a contact and information platform to support location, market situation and product portfolio in Poland. In exhibition, congresses and programme, discussed all important issues of renewable energies and energy efficiency: it finds conferences including photovoltaic, biomass, electric mobility, hydropower and heat pump technology instead of the main Polish industries trade associations with organized or supported. The RENEXPO Poland will take place from the 17th-18th October 2012 at the Warszawskie Centrum EXPO XXI instead. Tuesday from 09 am to 5 pm and Wednesday from 09.00 to 16.30 open. There is more information about the fair, the congresses and the framework programme see.
