Prepared by the Office of Strategic Development, international automobile holding “Atlant-M”. August 2010. The full version of the document with tables and graphs can be downloaded here – ‘Analysis of automobile market, January – July 2010 ‘. In Russia and Ukraine in July continued the trend of recent months – a slow but steady recovery of economic activity and consumer demand. Indicators of new car sales have also retained positive trend, showing a record growth rates since the crisis began (the absolute volume of sales is still small.) Note that the extreme weather conditions and fires this summer in July have not been able to serious impact on macroeconomic indicators and auto sales. The negative effect in the form of slower economic growth (up to minus 1 percentage point of GDP growth in Russia), an increase in inflation of food and slowdown in consumer confidence will manifest itself since August. However, we believe that the outcome of auto sales in 2010, it will affect not very much.
In Belarus in July was expected and is very strong decline in registration of new vehicles, as most of the ‘gray’ delivery was carried out based on the importation of the car before July 1, 2010 can expect stagnation in the market in August and a small recovery in the autumn. The situation with duties on cars and forecasts of its development so far remain unchanged. In the Russian market to keep the old trend – sales between the trajectories of 2006 and 2007.
